Heath Mabbett, a fourth generation surveyor, is the owner and principal surveyor at Coast to Coast Marine Surveyors Limited.
Heath grew up immersed in the marine world, with his father – also a marine surveyor – introducing him early to the industry. His passion for boats and the ocean has naturally led him to a career in marine surveying.
Heath began his professional journey in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) at a young age in his father’s inspection and ship surveying business. There, he gained hands-on experience, technical expertise and qualifications across a wide range of vessels, components and inspection disciplines.
Heath utilised this expertise for many years working in the NDT industry for various companies.
He subsequently spent 4-5 years surveying commercial vessels under his father’s guidance, at which time he completed the IIMS Diploma in Yacht & Small Craft Surveying in 2012.
Heath returned to the NDT industry for some time until launching his own business in marine surveying in 2022.
Heath is a proud member of the International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS). IIMS is a leading global professional body that promotes the professionalism, recognition and training of marine surveyors worldwide. Their qualifications are recognised by the maritime sector, insurance companies and the small craft and commercial shipping industry in most countries.
With over a decade of experience Heath brings a thorough, pragmatic and detail-focused approach to his work, ensuring every vessel is assessed with precision and integrity. His friendly and approachable nature makes the survey process smooth and informative.
